Robert G. "Bob" Duncan, Executive VP

Robert G. “Bob” Duncan has been associated with the elevator business since 1958. He started out working in the field, first as a helper during college and later was promoted to mechanic. 

After completing college in 1965, Bob moved to San Francisco where he worked his way through the Westinghouse Elevator sales ranks, becoming a District Manager in Oakland, CA in 1973.

In 1976, Bob was promoted to Region Manager of Business Development for Westinghouse Corporate in Philadelphia, where his responsibility covered the Northeast Region. In 1979, Bob returned to the elevator division and was Region Manager of the Chicago office until 1987.

In 1987, Bob left Westinghouse to become Vice President of Armor/Kone Elevator in Louisville, KY. He remained in that position until 1997 when Kone purchased Montgomery Elevator and moved the Headquarters to Moline, IL

In 1997, Bob moved back to Chicago working for Otis Elevator. Bob became a National Accounts Manager and remained in that position until his retirement, in Kentucky, in 2006.

In 2006, Bob became involved with Sisters of Mercy Hospitals when they requested he assist them in consolidating the maintenance contracts for their 16 hospitals. It was at that time that Bob formed Duncan Elevator Solutions. 

With 6 successful years in the consulting business, Bob is delighted to have his oldest son Chip take over as President of the company, with youngest son Scott acting as Chief Technical Officer. Bob continues to work with his current clients and prepares for “phase 2” of retirement some time down the road.
